26 Aug, firefighters were called to a grass fire on Ashton Road, on scene it was discovered to be a controlled burn. Individuals are reminded to call the Burkburnett Police Dispatch at 569-2231 to report controlled burns prior to beginning the burn.
26 Aug, firefighters were called to FM 240 and East Road for a possible grass fire, on arrival it too was determined to be a controlled burn.
26 Aug, firefighters were called to a grass fire on the Truck Route at Ave F, on arrival units located a small fire in the field which was quickly extinguished. A witness reported seeing kids in the area prior to the fire starting, Burkburnett police were notified and the situation turned over to them.
27 Aug, firefighters were called to a possible structure fire in the 300 block of E 3rd, on arrival it was reported that smoke was coming from the ventilation ducts, crews investigated and cleared the area turning it over to the owner.
28 Aug, firefighters were called to FM 240 near Bailey Road for a grass fire, on arrival a previous controlled burn that continued smolder was the cause of the alarm. The fire was completely extinguished.
28 Aug, firefighters were called to assist Trans Star Ambulance with a lift assist in the 7000 block of Willis Road.
28 Aug, the department conducted a regular training session at Station 3, the topic of the evening was pump operations.
30 Aug, firefighters were called to the 1100 block of Ruby for a pool pump on fire, on arrival neighbors had disconnected the power, area was checked out and the owner notified.
31 Aug, firefighters were called to standby for EMS personnel that were extended on a medical call.
31 Aug, firefighters were called to FM 240 and the old rest area for a box on fire, on arrival a small fire in a box of fireworks was burning in road and extinguished.
